Instructions
Pour in 4 cups of water and place it on medium heat
Add in your elderberry and other herbs
Bring to a rolling boil and let boil for 5 minutes
Add a lid and cover on the simmer setting for 45 minutes
Strain your elderberry liquid and stir in your honey, while the mixture is still warm
Give your herbs to your chickens or add them to your compost pile
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 months or place in the freezer for up to 6 months
Notes
We always recommend talking with your primary care physician and doing your own research when it comes to taking elderberry or other herbs. It is recommended that adults take one tablespoon of elderberry up to 3 times a day. While children can take one teaspoon of elderberry one to three times a day. You can take elderberry year-round, but it is recommended to only take elderberry when you are needing to boost your immune system.
