Equipment

Ingredients

Chicken Portion

  • 1 lb chicken
  • salt & pepper to taste

Rice Portion

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup white or brown rice

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2/4 cups ketchup
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp garlic minced Measure with your heart
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

Instructions

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • In a small bowl add the honey, ketchup, soy sauce and garlic together. Stir until it's well incorporated. You can do a small taste to see if you want to add a little more honey to make it sweeter or soy sauce to make it have more of a tanginess in flavor.

Instant Pot

  • Place chicken and honey garlic sauce in the instant pot. Covering the chicken in the sauce. Add a dash of salt and pepper for extra taste.
  • Place the lid on the instant pot and turn the vent to seal.
  • Press the pressure cook button and cook your chicken 15 minutes.

Rice Portion

  • Place water and rice in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Once the entire surface of the water is bubbling gently, turn heat down to low and cover with lid.
  • Cook for 13 minutes. Do not stir, do not remove lid. Water should now all be absorbed – tilt to check.
  • Remove from stove, still with lid, and leave for 10 minutes.

Incorporating Final Ingredients

  • Once the instant pot has beeped, allow it to "natural release" for 10 minutes. Then turn the gage open to vent the pressure cooker. Carefully opening the lid away from your face once it's safe to do so.
  • Plate your rice and then add your chicken and sauce on top.
  • Enjoy!
